DRC: Water shortage continues to affect people's lives in Goma

But waiting at the fountain can last several hours.

The city has experienced a water shortage due to its water supply system reaching its limit while the city is growing and displaced people fleeing the war are increasing the number of its residents significantly.

The number of people complaining about lack of water is increasing day by day.  Local resident Angel Chibalonza is at the fountain looking for water.

There were complaints from citizens, which were registered either with the Water Agency, a Government agency and even others that reached us (ICRC) which made us evaluate the water system itself and find ways to solve it, that's why the ICRC invested in finding a solution to the issue of water supply .
