Dmitry Peskov, Russian presidential spokesman, stated on Tuesday (24/10/2023) that the sanctions imposed by Western countries on Russia under the pretext of the war in Ukraine had helped domestic economic growth and strengthened Russian industrial production. Some international observers also say that Russia has managed to overcome Western sanctions. After the outbreak of war in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the United States and its allies imposed sweeping sanctions on Russia. Sanctions by the United States and its allies against Russia, especially the oil and gas sector, have backfired on the European economy and global energy markets.
