Moroccans join Jordanians in demanding that their governments break ties with Israel

Demonstrators gathered near the Israeli embassy in the Jordanian capital Amman on Thursday for the fifth day in a row, carrying Palestinian flags and placards reading "Amman-Ghaza is one destiny."

 

Along with chanting "No Zionist embassy on Jordanian soil," the protesters called on their government to close the Israeli embassy and cancel the so-called 1994 peace accord that restored ties with Tel Aviv.

 


In addition, they have announced their support for the Palestinian Authority and raised the flag against Israel and the United States.


The demonstration has been held amid tight security that aimed to limit the number of demonstrators.


Dozens of Jordanians have been arrested in the past few days, trying to reach the embassy of the illegal Israeli regime in Amman while others were beaten by security forces.


In Morocco too, citizens flocked to the streets of Casablanca, Meknes and other cities yesterday Thursday, waving Palestinian flags and condemning Israel's genocide against Palestinians.


The demonstrators have called for an immediate ceasefire in accordance with the resolution of the United Nations Security Council passed earlier this week, and emphasized their demand to break Morocco's relationship with the oppressive Zionist regime.


Morocco, along with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, and Sudan, signed agreements to establish formal relations with US-backed Israel in 2020, condemned by Palestinians who accused the agreement of "stabbing Palestine in the back." and the Palestinian people".../
