Sudan's rival parties meet in Geneva to discuss the humanitarian crisis

The crisis in Sudan is the worst humanitarian crisis in the world, says the United Nations, with more than 13 million Sudanese displaced or refugees.In addition, according to the United Nations, half of the population is facing food shortages. As the country plunges into "one of the worst disasters" according to the United Nations, a large number of humanitarian activities have been disrupted due to insecurity.

Doctor Shible Sabhani, the representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Sudan says that the situation is particularly bad in the capital Khartoum, in the regions of Kordofan, Al-Jazirah and especially Darfur.

War broke out in April 2023 between the government army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), plunging Sudan into "one of the worst humanitarian conflicts in recent memory", according to the United Nations.

Various regional and international organizations have been warning about the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Sudan.

Sudan plunged into civil war since April 15, 2023 between the country's army led by Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) under the command of Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo.
