The collective West undermines the UN's activities from within, but today, as before, there is no alternative to the organization. This was announced by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
"Currently, the 'UN-centric' system is again in crisis: the organization is often accused of excessive administration, inflexibility, duplication of efforts, irrational use of resources, etc. However, the roots of the UN's undermined reputation and insufficient effectiveness should be sought, first of all, not in some 'innate defects', but in the destructive line of the collective West, which is undermining the organization from within," Zakharova said in a comment published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
According to him, the organization's reputation and authority can be restored if Western countries "abandon their unfounded claims to their own exclusivity and demonstrate a willingness for equal international cooperation based on a balance of interests." At the same time, Zakharova emphasized that, as before, there are no alternatives to the UN in the modern world.
