Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has categorically rejected the possibility of the country joining the United States, saying it is absolutely impossible.
"A snowball doesn't stand a chance in hell," Trudeau wrote on his X social media account.
He noted that workers and communities in both countries benefit from mutual trade and security partnerships.
Trudeau's statement came amid recent proposals by President-elect Donald Trump to admit Canada as the 51st state of the United States.
