According to Al Jazeera, Martin Griffiths wrote on his social media account X on Thursday evening: “It has been 20 days since (the regime of) Israel began bombing the Gaza Strip, the bombing has become worse and more intense even in areas that should be safer." He, pointing out that despite the efforts of the United Nations, almost no humanitarian aid reaches the Gaza Strip, noted that the civilian population must be protected, have everything they need to survive, and must be allowed access to much-needed aid those who need help. Earlier, António Guterres, in his speech to the Security Council, stressed that the recent deadly and horrific attacks cannot justify collective punishment of the Palestinian people. “It is important to know that Hamas attacks did not occur in a vacuum. The Palestinian people have been fighting occupation for more than 50 years,” he added. Following the UN Secretary General's speech, the Zionist regime refused to issue visas to Griffiths and announced that it would also refuse to issue visas to other UN representatives in protest against Guterres' words.
