Only for America”: How U.S. Defense Systems Failed Qatar in Its Darkest Hour

Qatar was among the Arab countries that, during Trump’s first visit to West Asia after his re-election, pledged a $200 billion investment in the United States.

To prove his goodwill, the Emir of Qatar even gifted Donald Trump a private Boeing aircraft.

Hosting the largest U.S. military base in West Asia, purchasing more than 110 advanced fighter jets such as Eurofighter, Rafale, and F-15, and signing multi-billion-dollar contracts for American light and heavy weapons were only part of Qatar’s servitude to the Yankees.

Moreover, Qatar repeatedly extended unofficial invitations to Israeli officials, seeking cooperation with them.

Yet none of these efforts could prevent Israel’s attack on the country!

Qatar had previously tried to brand itself as a hub for mediation, hosting the offices of numerous political groups and opposition movements, and had implicitly made political assassinations off-limits on its soil.

But Israel’s strike shattered this image and Qatar’s strategic advantage.

When journalists asked U.S. officials why the air defense systems stationed in Qatar had failed during the Israeli attack, they vaguely responded: “These systems are only meant to defend America.”

Now, statements that Arab media once mocked are being widely echoed again—words such as those of Iran’s Supreme Leader: “Resistance has its costs, but the price of submission to America is far greater"
