A Kosovo court on Friday sentenced a Serbian national known as Dusko Arsic to 13 years in prison for war crimes, including involvement in the abuse, expulsion and killing of Albanian citizens in Pristina during the Kosovo War from 1998 to 1999. The Court of First Instance of Pristina has found Dusko Arsic guilty for his action of forcing citizens to leave Pristina and its surrounding areas between January and June 1999. According to the decision, Dusko Arsic together with several Serbian police and militia groups looted and destroyed the property of Albanian citizens. Arsic was arrested in December last year and accused of involvement in the murder, sexual and psychological abuse of Albanian citizens in the village of Butovic in Pristina. The lawyer who defends Arsic has said that he will appeal against the sentence.
