A new warning about entering NATO in the war in Ukraine
Viktor Orbán, the Prime Minister of Hungary, said in a statement that the leaders of the European Union and the Western Military Defense Association (NATO) consider the conflict between Moscow and Kyiv to be theirs and do not consider the risk of getting involved in the conflict. He has warned that NATO is about to send its troops to Ukraine.
On the eve of the European Parliament elections, Orban said at a meeting of the Fidesz party in Hungary that: "Many members in Brussels support the war, and the politics of the European Union is organized according to that logic." Orban has also emphasized that Budapest will not enter the war in favor of either side, and warned that Brussels is playing with fire because the war between Russia and Ukraine is a quagmire that could drag Europe into its depths.
The warning of the Prime Minister of Hungary regarding the possibility of NATO entering the war in Ukraine has been given considering the positions of some European leaders, especially France, to encourage NATO member countries to enter the war in Ukraine. French President Emmanuel Macron, after hosting a meeting attended by leaders and high-level officials of 20 countries in Paris, has indicated that currently no consensus has been reached on sending NATO forces to the battlefield. Despite that, he has made it clear that nothing can prevent that from happening.
President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine said in response to Macron's remarks that there is no need for the French army to be sent to the country as long as the country's army is still fighting.
Undoubtedly, the deployment of NATO forces in Ukraine will be perceived by Moscow as a military action against Russia and may be met with severe backlash. For that reason, the dangerous action of the French president could trigger a war between Russia and NATO and eventually the third world war.
Considering the issue, Macron's position has faced opposition and criticism from many members of the European Union, especially Germany, where those countries have opposed the deployment of EU troops in Ukraine. The UK, Slovakia, Romania and Italy have also opposed the deployment of NATO forces to Ukraine. In response to Macron's remarks, Boris Pistorius, the Minister of Defense of Germany, has said that the deployment of NATO troops will not help solve Kyiv's problems. While stressing his position on the deployment of Nato troops in Ukraine, the French President has asked Kyiv protocol officers not to be afraid in this regard.
The important thing is that Macron's position has faced opposition even within France itself. French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejournay said: "At the moment there is no plan to send military forces to Ukraine."
On the one hand, following the failure of Ukraine in its attacks against the Russian army in the eastern and southeastern provinces of Ukraine, and the decrease in military aid and weapons from the West on the other hand, it is clear that the issue of NATO entering directly into that war by sending his soldiers to the country's war debts against Russia. So far, Western countries have been making claims to help Ukraine for a long time, but they have been denying the issue of directly confronting Russian forces in the war with Ukraine.
On the other hand, President Zelensky of Ukraine, whose position and reputation continues to collapse day by day, considering the events in West Asia, has asked Western leaders to show their unity that they showed in supporting Israel against Iran recently, by providing Kyiv with weapons and equipment more for countering Moscow's attacks.
In response to Zelensky's request to the West to put Ukraine on the same level of security as Israel, the White House has given a disappointing answer in that field. White House National Security Spokesman John Kirby, speaking about the United States' participation in protecting Tel Aviv against large-scale attacks by Iranian missiles and drones, has said that Washington will not take such action for Kyiv in its war with Russia. In relation to that matter, until now the Republicans of the House of Representatives of the United States have been blocking the approval of the foreign aid bill proposed by the President of the United States Joe Biden in October 2023.
Accordingly, the perspective of the war in Ukraine in its third year will not have any hope for the Western-oriented president in terms of winning the war or re-liberating the territories in the hands of Russia. The truth is that the Ukrainians got into a big conflict with Russia with the influence and incitement of the West, but now they have turned their backs. This is in addition to the fact that, the predictions of senior officials of Western countries about the outcome of the war in Ukraine completely disappoint Kyiv. William Burns, Head of the US Intelligence Agency (CIA) has warned about losing Ukraine in the war with Russia. While pointing to the small amount of war equipment for the Ukrainian army, Burns said: "There is a high probability of defeat in Ukraine this year, but more military aid from the United States in the field could be beneficial for that country."
