Al Burhan: The condition to stop the war in Sudan is to leave the RSF in urban and rural areas
The head of the Transitional Administration Council in Sudan, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, has said that the condition for a ceasefire in his country is the removal of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) from the cities and villages of the country, noting that "the presence of the group's fighters in those areas that are the cause of people fleeing their residents.
Al-Burhan has said this in his conversation with the African Union (AU) delegation led by Mohamed Ibn Chambas, who met with the Sudanese leader in the city of Port Sudan to discuss the political situation in Sudan.
Reports state that Al-Burhan has presented a detailed report on the political situation in Sudan since October 25, 2021, when the cooperation between the military and political leaders in the country broke down due to the failure to reach an agreement. Al-Burhan has also denied that what happened at that time was a "military coup."
For his part, the leader of the African Union delegation tasked with dealing with Sudan's issues, Mohamed Ibn Chambas, has emphasized the need to end the war and restore stability in Sudan and expressed the union's desire to find a solution to the country's crisis.
It will be remembered that, on January 27, 2021, the African Union announced the suspension of Sudan's membership in the community "until the administration of the country is returned to the transitional authority and civilian leadership" after the unique measures taken by the commander of the Sudanese army, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan.
