Thousands of people gathered in numerous cities and capitals around the world, including Paris, Berlin, Santiago, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Istanbul, Rome, Manchester and London, to protest against what they described as the genocidal actions of the Zionist regime in Gaza and Lebanon.
The demonstrations were held to mark the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People and, according to the AP news agency, attracted participants in many cities calling for an end to double standards and sanctions against the Zionist regime. The violence against Palestinian children was a particular focus of criticism.
In Spain, rallies were held in 50 cities, including the capital Madrid, calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. In London, more than 125,000 people came together for the 21st National Palestine Demonstration to express their solidarity with the Palestinian people. The demonstrators sharply criticized the British government for its support of the Zionist regime and called for decisive action to end the war in the Gaza Strip. Demonstrations also took place in Berlin and ten other German cities. With Palestinian flags and placards, the participants expressed their solidarity and condemned the crimes of the Zionist regime.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, supported by the USA and other Western countries, has launched a deadly offensive in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank against the defenseless Palestinian population. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, at least 44,382 Palestinians have been killed and 105,142 injured since then. Most of the victims are women, children and elderly people. In addition, more than 10,000 people are still under the rubble of destroyed buildings, which will further increase the death toll. The international community and human rights organizations are criticized for their silence on these crimes, which encourages the continuation of violence by the Zionist regime's war machine.
