BRICS, Macron asks South Africa to be invited to the summit
French President Emmanuel Macron has asked South African President Cyril Ramaphosa about the opportunity to attend the BRICS summit in Johannesburg in August.
This was reported by Opinion, citing sources. "This opportunity was discussed during Macron's telephone conversations with Ramaphosa on June 3," the publication said.
Note that such a request surprised Ramaphosa. According to a person familiar with the matter, South Africa has not said whether it would allow other international leaders to attend the event.

To symbolize the deep friendship between the two capitals, a bronze Capitoline she-wolf has been placed for over half a century in a garden in the center of Paris, while in Rome, the symbolic vessel of the Ville Lumiere stands on top of an ancient Roman column, in via Parigi , a stone's throw from Piazza della Repubblica.
