China's Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) Geneva Office, Chin Shu, spoke on behalf of his country in the part of the 55th Session of the UN Human Rights Council where the Israel-Palestine issue was discussed.

In his speech, Permanent Representative Çın stated that there is an unprecedented humanitarian crisis in Gaza and said, "An urgent ceasefire is the demand of the international community and the basic requirement for achieving peace."

Calling on Israel to implement the interim measures and instructions of the International Court of Justice to prevent genocide, Çın emphasized that humanitarian aid organizations should be allowed to carry out their activities in Gaza.

Çın pointed out that China supports the just cause of the Palestinian people to gain their legitimate national rights, and emphasized that they strongly oppose the occupation of Palestinian lands and the forced displacement of the population.

Underlining that the two-state solution is generally accepted by the international community and the most realistic way for Palestine and Israel to live together in peace, Çın called on all countries to make efforts in this direction.
