China's Eight Steps to Accelerate OBOR Initiative
On the 10th anniversary of the One Belt One Road (OBOR) Initiative, China's President outlined eight practical steps to accelerate the expansion of the initiative. The New Silk Road project under the name One Belt, One Road is an economic infrastructure investment plan for more than 60 countries in the world, which was proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013 and started with an investment of around one thousand billion dollars.
OBOR Route According to Xinhua News Agency, the Chinese President said in his speech at the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF) in Beijing on Friday (20/10/2023) said, China's first step of creating a multi-dimensional connectivity network in the Belt and Road Initiative and accelerating the development of high-quality China-Europe high-speed railways, participation in the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor, and hosting the China-Europe High-Speed Railway Cooperation Forum. Xi Jinping added, In the second step, China will support global economic development, and China's total trade in goods and services is expected to exceed US$32 trillion and US$5 trillion respectively in 2028-2024. In clarifying the third step, President Xi Jimping added that China will follow up on major projects it has completed and will promote “small but smart” livelihood programs.
"In the fourth step, China will continue to promote environmentally friendly development and environmental protection," said Xi Jinping. Representatives of more than 130 countries, including Iran, gathered in China for the One Belt, One Road summit. A delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran led by Alireza Zakani, Mayor of Tehran, participated in this meeting.
