CIA Director: Gaza crisis has reignited instability in West Asia
The director of the US Central Intelligence Agency "CIA" said on Monday evening that the Gaza crisis has renewed instability in West Asia.
William Burns stated that the alternatives of not reaching an agreement on the ceasefire would be worse for the innocent people of Gaza, the prisoners and their families, and said, "Efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement continue, but cannot be guaranteed."
Burns also defended the Zionist regime, like other American officials, saying that this regime's need to respond to the attack of the Palestinian resistance was understandable, but that civilians should not be harmed in the meantime.
These statements of the CIA director come to the fore at a time when the Zionist regime's attack on Gaza has killed more than 31,000 Palestinians and injured more than 72,000 Palestinians so far.
This American official added:
"Reducing conflicts in West Asia is the first step towards a solution, and efforts are being made to increase the amount of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip."
"Until a ceasefire is reached, effective aid distribution in Gaza will be very difficult," Burns said.
