Danab forces killed 47 al-Shabaab terrorists in Somalia
The Somali army's Danab Special Forces have killed dozens of al-Shabaab terrorists in the latest operation in the Horn of Africa country. The terrorists have been destroyed a few hours before the Somali forces started another operation against the group in the states of Jubaland and South West. The wave of these operations has come after several soldiers of the Somali National Army were killed by members of al-Shabaab in the village of Oswein, in the middle of the country. Arab Dheeq Ahmed, Commander of the 5th Battalion of the Danab Forces has said that 47 more al-Shabaab terrorists have been killed in the new operation targeting their hideouts in the area of Yaq Dabey, Lower Juba province.
The Somali military has said, "The commandos of the 5th Danab Brigade have carried out clearing operations in Lower Juba province to drive out the criminals who were hiding in the forest in the area." Security circles inform that more than 3,000 terrorists have been killed in the first phase of operations to eliminate the group, especially in Hirshabelle and Galmadug states. Recently, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia said the aim of the ongoing military operations in the country is to eradicate and destroy the al-Shabaab terrorist group in the next five months.
