Dozens of people have died in a fire accident in Bangladesh. 43 people have been confirmed to have died and several others were injured by the fire that consumed a seven-story building in a neighborhood of the capital of Bangladesh.
The security agencies of Bangladesh have confirmed the occurrence of the fire tragedy and explained that the incident happened last night. " Forty-three people died in the fire," Bangladesh health minister Samanta Lal Sen told AFP after visiting Dhaka's Medical College Hospital. The chief inspector of police Bacchu Mia said another person died at the police hospital in Dhaka and increased the number of deaths to 44. In addition, tens of others have been injured in the disaster, while the condition of some of the injured is considered serious. Fire department official Mohammad Shihab said the fire started in a popular biriyani restaurant on Bailey Road in Dhaka on Thursday night and quickly spread to the upper floors, leaving many people dead. However, until now the source of the fire has not been officially confirmed by the relevant authorities in Bangladesh. In June last year, 50 people burned to death in a huge fire that burned a container depot in the southeast of Bangladesh and more than 150 people were injured in the fire tragedy.
