The European Union has approved the eleventh package of sanctions against Russia. It is learned from a statement made known on the website of the European Commission. First of all, it provides for new measures in the trade field, including a new anti-avoidance instrument, which should allow the EU to limit the sale, supply, transfer or export of specific goods and technologies subject to restrictions to certain third countries, considered continuous and particularly high risk of circumvention. It is, the Commission points out, an "exceptional" and "last resort" measure.

The transit ban is extended for some sensitive goods (including certain advanced technologies and aeronautical materials), exported from the EU to third countries, via Russia, which should reduce the risk of circumvention.87 new entities are added to the list of those directly supporting Russia's military and industrial complex in the war, subject to tighter export restrictions for civilian and military dual-use items and advanced technology. The already sanctioned Russian and Iranian ones include companies registered in China, Uzbekistan, the United Arab Emirates, Syria and Armenia.
