First Deportation Flight Carrying Undocumented Indian Migrants Departs from the US

A flight carrying undocumented Indian migrants from the United States has departed for India. The US military’s C-17 aircraft is bringing Indian nationals back. An official confirmed that the C-17 aircraft, carrying deported migrants, has taken off for India and is expected to arrive within 24 hours. The Indian government has expressed its willingness to cooperate with the US on the issue of illegal immigration. The matter was also discussed during a phone call between President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This is the first deportation flight to India since Trump’s return to the White House. Previously, the US had operated deportation flights to Guatemala, Honduras, and Peru. After regaining office, Donald Trump has launched a strict mass deportation campaign against undocumented migrants. According to reports, India has agreed to take back at least 18,000 of its undocumented citizens residing in the US. This flight is part of that agreement.

News agency Reuters, citing a US official, reported that the first deportation flight carrying Indian migrants has now taken off. The Indian nationals are being sent back aboard a US military C-17 aircraft. Reports suggest that 205 Indian citizens are on board the deportation flight, which took off from Texas and is expected to arrive in India within 24 hours.

The deportation process is being carried out with India’s cooperation, and every individual on board has been verified. The repatriation of undocumented migrants comes at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit the US next week. This will be his first visit to the US since Donald Trump assumed office for the second time.
