Germany: Because of the Nazi violence against the Jews, we are obliged to send arms to Israel

According to the official statistics of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, in the last three months, this country exported about 94 million euros (equivalent to 101.5 million dollars) worth of military equipment to Israel.

Despite international concerns about a possible genocide in Gaza, the German government has exported more than $101.5 million worth of military equipment to Israel in the past three months. According to Parstoday, this information published on Thursday shows that the German government has expanded its policy in this area by approving the export of weapons to Israel.
According to the official statistics of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this country has exported military equipment worth about 94 million euros (equivalent to 101.5 million dollars) to Israel in the last three months. These figures were published in response to a question from the left-wing party Bundenis Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW). This amount is almost two times higher than the indicator that the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Germany reported to the Economic Committee of the Parliament of this country last week.

Feedback from insiders and critics

BSW party representative Sivim Dagdelen described this action of the German government as an "irresponsible" step and called for an end to arms exports to Israel. In an interview with local media, he emphasized. "By sending arms to Israel, the German coalition government is fueling war crimes in Gaza and Lebanon, ignoring the majority's desire for an arms embargo."
Recently, after receiving assurances from Tel Aviv that it respects international laws regarding the use of German weapons, the German government has resumed the sale of military equipment to Israel.
Earlier in March, Germany suspended arms sales to Israel following a case filed by Nicaragua against Berlin at the International Court of Justice for aiding the "genocide" in Gaza.

German Foreign Minister defended the policy
German Foreign Minister Analena Berbock defended her government's policy in this matter and said that arms exports to Israel are carried out after careful study and in accordance with international law. At the press conference held in Paris, he emphasized: "We have studied each case in detail and will continue to do so." There are special rules for military exports to third parties, including Israel."
Germany has long been a key ally of Israel, and Chancellor Olaf Schulz has repeatedly emphasized Germany's special responsibility for the security of the Israeli regime because of its Nazi past. But critics are convinced that Germany's unequivocal support for the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has jeopardized Berlin's international reputation and further isolated it on the world stage.
Since October 2023, since the beginning of Israel's military attacks against the Gaza Strip, more than 43 thousand Palestinians have been martyred, more than 100 thousand people have been injured, most of whom are women and children. There is currently a case against Israel at the International Court of Justice for alleged genocide in Gaza, where millions of Palestinians continue to live in dire conditions and face shortages of food, medicine and other basic needs.
