Germany, the Interior Minister scandal
Nancy Pfizer, the German Federal Interior Minister, paid 20,000 euros to Arne Schoenbaum, then head of cyber defense, as a right of silence. German newspaper Bild also reported that Pfizer signed a confidentiality agreement with Schoenbaum before his firing in January. According to this report it was stipulated in the present contract that "Schönbaum" would withdraw from the complaint against his successor at the German Federal Office (BSI). According to other provisions of this agreement, he also assured not to take action against his transfer to the Federal Academy. In exchange for the duties and obligations given by Schoenboom, this ministry paid him around 20 thousand euros. Both parties had also agreed to keep his appointment and obligations confidential. The spokesperson for the German Interior Ministry denied the authenticity of this information, but several members of the German parliament expressed concern about this alleged disclosure.
