According to the German newspaper Die Welt, the German government plans to improve the country's air defense system. An Israeli missile interception system is to be purchased from the Bundeswehr's EUR 100 billion special fund. The Budget Committee of the German Bundestag is to deal with this topic today (Wednesday).

Berlin wants to buy a missile defense system manufactured by the Zionist regime for around 4 billion euros. As AFP and Bloomberg reported on Tuesday, the budget committee of the German Bundestag will provide 560 million euros for a pre-contractual agreement with Israel in its session on Wednesday as a first step. The binding conclusion of the contract is planned for the end of 2023. Based on the decisions made, this system should be operational in Germany by the end of 2025.

According to a communication from the German Ministry of Finance to the Parliament's Budget Committee, the Israeli missile defense system is intended to help protect Germany, its population and critical infrastructure from ballistic missiles. This protective shield can destroy enemy long-range missiles outside the Earth's atmosphere.

This purchase is to be financed from the 100 billion euro special fund of the Bundeswehr, which the German government set up after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. A year ago, Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that he wanted to buy a missile defense shield for Germany as a reaction to the war in Ukraine. It was initially unclear which system his government would opt for.

The system, to be bought by Germany, was developed and produced by the Israel Aerospace Industries Company in cooperation with the American Boeing Aircraft Company. Arrow 3 has been in service at Israeli Air Force bases since 2017. There it is used for the Iron Dome anti-missile shield.
