Hamas Leader Denounces U.S. Humanitarian Claims as "American Lie"

A senior member of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (HAMAS) has strongly criticized the United States' stance on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Ezzat al-Rashq, a prominent figure within Hamas, accused Washington of hypocrisy, stating, "Washington's claim that it is concerned about the humanitarian situation and is saddened by the pain and suffering experienced by the people of Gaza is an American lie."
Al-Rashq elaborated on his accusation, suggesting that if the U.S. genuinely wanted to halt the conflict, it would cease its extensive support to Israel. He asserted, "If they were interested in stopping the war, they would have stopped it and they would have stopped their military, political, security, and intelligence aid and support to the Zionist Nazi army."
He further emphasized that the Palestinians killed in the conflict, including women, the elderly, children, and refugees, were non-combatants targeted by the Israeli military. According to al-Rashq, these actions are carried out "with a criminal decision, weapons, and the full and direct political protection of the United States."
Meanwhile, reports from the New York Times indicate the scale of U.S. military support to Israel since the onset of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm on October 7, 2023. The report states that the United States has supplied Israel with over 20,000 unguided bombs, nearly 2,600 guided bombs, and 3,000 guided missiles in this period.
The conflict, which began on October 7, has seen the United States providing significant military assistance to Israel. This support includes ammunition and various military equipment, which has continued despite mounting international calls for a ceasefire and increased humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The U.S. has faced widespread condemnation and isolation in the international community due to its support for Israel, particularly in light of its repeated vetoes of United Nations Security Council resolutions calling for a ceasefire and humanitarian intervention. This has led to accusations that the U.S. is complicit in the alleged war crimes committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip.
The situation remains dire, with ongoing hostilities exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, drawing further criticism of U.S. policies and its role in the conflict.
