Hamdan: Israel is blocking negotiations
Osama Hamdan, one of the leaders of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), said that Israel only wants a prisoner exchange, while the Palestinian resistance demands a complete end to the attacks, the withdrawal of the occupation army from the Gaza Strip, the arrival of aid and the start of reconstruction activities.
Hamdan, who closely follows the indirect negotiations between Hamas and Israel through mediator states, especially Egypt and Qatar, stated that the negotiations have been within the general framework so far. Speaking to the Al-Jazeera website, Hamdan stated that no detailed discussion has been made about the names and numbers of the captives to be released yet, and that the general framework of the agreement is emphasized. Hamdan stated that US President Joe Biden was not a mediator, on the contrary, he was a party to the attacks, and said, "Maybe he thought the Israelis would destroy the resistance, but he failed." Saying that Israel is blocking the negotiations and trying to gain time, Hamdan noted that the philosophy of the occupation regime is to continue the attacks on the Gaza Strip. Pointing out that Israel wants to be able to attack as it wishes, Hamdan stated that it is not possible for the Palestinian people to accept the continuation of attacks. Hamdan stated that US President Biden acted as a political hypocrite due to the decrease in public support before the elections.
