Ismail Haniyah was speaking at a meeting on Sunday with Nelson Mandela's grandson, Nkosi Zwelivelile Mandela, in the Turkish port city of Istanbul.
In the session, Haniyah strongly condemned the terrible crimes committed by the brutal Israeli regime in its genocidal war against the besieged Gaza Strip.
He has emphasized the responsibility of the international community regarding the ongoing events in Gaza, stressing that if justice is to be served, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his terrorist cabinet members must be arrested for their criminal actions.
Haniyah has also praised South Africa's historic move to file a legal case against Israel's brutal regime at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), accusing Israel of committing genocide in Gaza.
Elsewhere in his speech, Haniyah thanked the people and government of South Africa for their unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.
He has said that the position taken by the late leader of the country, Nelson Mandela, regarding the issue of Palestine had a true humanitarian and moral orientation, and is completely opposed to the blind and biased support given to Israel by the United States and other Western countries.
Mandla Mandela, for his part, has given Haniyeh his condolences following the martyrdom of his children and grandchildren.
He has reiterated his country's support for the Palestinian issue until the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with its capital being the occupied Al-Quds.
