The civil rights organization 'Muslim Legal Fund of America', which has filed charges against the college on behalf of the students, has said that Muslim students at the college are subjected to various acts of hatred and discrimination just because they are either Palestinians, Muslims, Arabs or supporters of Palestine. The institution has strongly criticized Harvard University for failing to protect and guarantee the safety of its Muslim and Arab students, who apart from being attacked, are subjected to other acts of hatred and discrimination such as publishing their confidential information on the internet, being humiliated, insulted and even threatened. The civil organization has said that the Muslim and Arab students, especially the Palestinians, have sometimes been subjected to such humiliating acts because they only wear Palestinian scarves (keffiyeh). The irony is that, a report released at the end of February last year by the Human Rights Center at Harvard Law School in collaboration with the Palestine Institute of Conscience, and then presented at the United Nations condemned the occupation of the Zionist regime of Israel in Palestine citing that it is "a crime of apartheid." Harvard University Muslim University students in the United States and even in other Western countries have been subjected to acts of discrimination for a long time, but those acts intensified after the Palestinian Operation al-Aqsa Storm on October 7. At the end of last month, the Council on American-Islamic Relations CAIR announced that complaints of discrimination and hate speech against Muslims have increased in the country by approximately 180 percent, in the last quarter of 2023 compared to the same period of the previous year.
