In the wake of the martyrdom of Sayyed Hashem Safiuddin as pointed out by Iran’s Supreme Leader it is crucial to acknowledge a vital truth: Hezbollah stands as Lebanon’s staunch protector thwarting the perils of disintegration and chaos that have long threatened the nation. Through the astute leadership and valor of figures like Safiuddin Hezbollah has successfully defended Lebanon against the oppressive tactics of the occupying regime which has historically used its military might to crush Beirut’s spirit. Today Hezbollah emerges as the most formidable guardian of Lebanon serving as an indomitable bulwark against the avarice of the Zionist regime which has persistently sought to fragment the nation.

The narrative propagated by adversaries who downplay Hezbollah’s altruistic role in Lebanon must be fervently challenged. It is imperative that supporters of Lebanon raise their voices against these unfounded claims. In this regard it is essential to highlight Hezbollah’s pivotal contributions to the nation.

Hezbollah's roots run deep within the Lebanese populace embodying the honor dignity and independence of the nation. Its membership encompasses a diverse tapestry of Lebanese clans underscoring its multi-sectarian and multi-tribal nature. This resistance movement has been a significant player in the Lebanese government since 1992 with its representatives holding parliamentary seats and cabinet positions demonstrating its integral role in shaping national policy. As of the most recent elections in 2022 Hezbollah commands 13 out of 128 parliamentary seats reflecting its substantial influence.

Beyond politics Hezbollah administers a comprehensive network of social services including vital infrastructure healthcare facilities schools and youth programs. These initiatives have garnered widespread support among Shiite and non-Shiite Lebanese alike reinforcing Hezbollah’s status as a unifying force in the country.

While Hezbollah may not possess the conventional armaments of traditional armies it has adeptly maintained its militia structure amassing a formidable arsenal of approximately 150000 rockets and missiles along with thousands of drones. The organization’s forces exceed 100000 dwarfing the Lebanese army which has often struggled against the aggression of the Zionist entity. This discrepancy in military capacity underscores Hezbollah’s sense of duty in defending Lebanon especially in light of the historical vulnerabilities of the Lebanese army and its complex ties with external powers.

In foreign policy Hezbollah champions Lebanon's sovereignty firmly opposing foreign interference in its domestic affairs. The developments of the 1990s showcased Hezbollah's remarkable evolution defying the expectations of many analysts observing Middle Eastern dynamics. As journalist Nicolas Bland Noord notes Hezbollah’s appeal transcends sectarian lines earning considerable respect and admiration from various segments of the Lebanese society.

Hezbollah has consistently defined itself as a jihadist movement dedicated to the liberation of Lebanon from Israeli occupation. The organization prioritizes resistance against Israel viewing it as a non-negotiable imperative rooted in its historical context. The occupation of southern Lebanon by Israel since 1978 catalyzed Hezbollah’s commitment to armed resistance shaping its identity and mission.

In recent months the Israeli regime has launched an all-out assault on Lebanon seemingly overlooking the resilient spirit embodied by Hezbollah. The Zionist leadership perhaps emboldened by past quick victories against other Arab nations has underestimated the steadfastness of the Lebanese people particularly the unwavering resolve of Hezbollah to alter the course of confrontation.

Historically Israel has faced significant setbacks in Lebanon notably in 2000 and 2006 where Hezbollah emerged victorious in liberating Lebanese territory from Israeli occupation. During those conflicts the Israeli military often touted as one of the world's most formidable forces was forced into retreat underscoring Hezbollah's critical role in securing national sovereignty.

Hezbollah's triumph in expelling Israeli forces from Lebanon has transformed southern Lebanon into a strategic quagmire for Israel reminiscent of the challenges faced by the U.S. in Vietnam. The asymmetric warfare tactics employed by Hezbollah have inflicted considerable losses on the Israeli military compelling them to reassess their ambitions in the region. Even Israeli officials have recognized Hezbollah’s prominence acknowledging it as the true military force of Lebanon.

As Lebanon moves forward it is imperative to foster an environment free from foreign interference. The nation must prioritize national dialogues cooperation and the vital contributions of Hezbollah in ensuring peace stability and security. This approach is essential to navigating the deep crises that have beset Lebanon ultimately leading the people to liberation and resilience.

The path ahead lies in the hands of Lebanese politicians groups and citizens who must engage in thoughtful dialogue to shape their future collectively. Should external powers seek to impose their will as has been the case with the United States and some European nations Lebanon will inevitably descend deeper into turmoil and conflict. It is time for Lebanon to reclaim its agency and assert its right to self-determination guided by the steadfastness of Hezbollah which remains a vital pillar of strength for the nation.
