The Palestinian Islamic Jihad resistance movement will continue to train new armed brigades in the West Bank and all other occupied Palestinian territories, and supply them with the necessary armaments for retaliatory operations against Israeli forces. This was announced by the secretary general of Jihad, Ziyad al-Nakhalah in an interview with the Iranian Arabic-language newspaper al-Vefagh that brigades and armed groups have been formed in all Palestinian cities, noting that Islamic Jihad, in particular, has assumed responsibility for doing so.

“Palestinian Islamic Jihad has been working and is working to raise combat battalions throughout the Palestinian cities of the West Bank, and the size and skill of these battalions vary from place to place, depending on our ability to arm them,” noted Nakhalah. The head of Islamic Jihad described the Jenin battalion as a "distinguished" resistance group in the West Bank, stressing: "This does not mean there are no fighters from other factions. I also say that we have benefited from being open to groups affiliated with the Fatah movement. Among Fatah's bases are influential segments that oppose the so-called peace process [with Israel] and the Palestinian Authority. "The arming of these [Fatah] groups helped expand the resistance front [against Israel]."
