Japan-China-South Korea foreign ministers' meeting in Busan, South Korea, unable to decide date for summit meeting
Japan, China, and South Korea were unable to decide on a summit date at their foreign ministers' meeting held on Sunday, the 26th.
The meeting between Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and South Korean Foreign Minister Park Chin was being held to promote cooperation between the three countries and restart the annual summit. Since 2008, the three countries had agreed to hold an annual summit to promote diplomatic and economic exchanges, but due to some issues and the spread of the new coronavirus, the summit was held in 2019. It was interrupted. According to NHK news agency, the foreign ministers of the three countries did not hold a joint press conference after the meeting. The reason for this is said to be the gap in the positions of the three countries.
