Prime Minister Kishida met with Prime Minister Pham Minh Trinh of Vietnam, and the two countries agreed to aim to strengthen relations in the defense field, including economic cooperation and the transfer of defense equipment. On the 16th, Prime Minister Kishida met with Prime Minister Trinh of Vietnam, who is visiting Japan to attend the Japan-ASEAN Special Summit. According to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two leaders agreed during this meeting to advance economic cooperation utilizing Japan's ODA, as well as defense cooperation including measures to combat global warming and the transfer of defense equipment.
