Kim Jong-un ordered the launch of three more satellites
North Korea plans to launch three more reconnaissance satellites next year. This was reported by the Korean Central News Agency.
It emphasizes that the DPRK leader Kim Jong-un announced the corresponding plans at a meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. He criticized the trilateral cooperation between the United States, Japan and South Korea, expressing confidence that it "is leading the situation on the Korean Peninsula to a dangerous situation." Kim outlined plans to launch three more military spy satellites next year, in addition to the country's first reconnaissance satellite launched in November. He also directed authorities to continue efforts to produce more nuclear weapons and develop various types of advanced unmanned combat equipment, such as armed drones and powerful electronic warfare devices. Earlier, Kim Jong-un ordered the country's armed forces to “accelerate preparations for war,” including in the field of nuclear development. On November 21, North Korea launched its first reconnaissance satellite, Mulligyong-1. On December 2, the department for operating the DPRK reconnaissance satellite began work. The Korean Central News Agency reported that Mulligyong-1 will begin to fully carry out its mission around December 1. As part of the test operation, the satellite transmitted images of the White House, the Pentagon, as well as a number of military facilities in the United States, the Republic of Korea and Japan.
