The ex-Secretary of State of the United States and long-time diplomat, Henry Kissinger, warns of a hypothetical end to the current crisis in Ukraine in which an "offended" Russia emerges. The risk would be that of a new escalation. "Better avoid disintegration or lead Russia into a state of resentful helplessness."

Henry Kissinger, ex-Secretary of State of the United States and long-time diplomat, stated this in an interview with Bloomberg with reference to the crisis situation in Ukraine and hypothetical outcomes. The risk would be that of further new tensions.

Opinion of the same, that at the end of hostilities Ukraine should become a strong democracy, and "Russia will have to understand that the basis of its relations with Europe should be a sort of consensus".The ex-secretary also believes that it is becoming increasingly important for the parties "to consider diplomatic ways to end the conflict".
