Macron: the EU must act independently against excessive dependence on the US

The French president has called on European nations to develop greater autonomy in the defense of airspace, in order to avoid excessive dependence on the United States. Emmanuel Macron has argued for the need for European states to define their own airspace protection strategy.

A recurring question, now made more urgent by the war in Ukraine. "We need to know the level of the threat. And then understand what we Europeans are capable of producing. And what we have to buy instead", declared Macron.
