Malaysia bans Israeli ships to support the people of Gaza
Malaysia has banned all Israeli-flagged ships from anchoring in its ports as part of practical measures to protest the crimes of the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip and to condemn Israel for violating international law through the killing and brutality it does to Palestinians.
The action was announced today Wednesday by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim and said that the decision to ban Israeli ships from docking at Malaysian ports was taken to support the people of Gaza. The action has been taken amid concerns over Yemen attacking and blocking all ships heading for the Zionist regime, passing through the Red Sea. The Prime Minister of Malaysia has also said: All ships bound for Israel will be prevented from loading cargo in any Malaysian port and the implementation of the order has begun immediately. A large percentage of Malaysians are Muslims. The country does not have diplomatic relations with the Zionist regime. It has repeatedly condemned the crimes committed by Israel against the Palestinians. Zionist shipping company ZIM is among the companies banned from docking at any Malaysian port In one part of his speech, Prime Minister Anwar said: "The Malaysian government has decided to prevent and not allow the ZIM shipping company based in Israel to dock in any Malaysian port." The prohibition also applies to all ships flying the flag of the Zionist regime and any ship carrying cargo to the Zionist regime. Malaysia has given millions of dollars in aid to Gaza and the country's Prime Minister is at the forefront of condemning the crimes committed by the Zionist regime against the Palestinians and which have been ongoing since October 7. The Red Sea is connected to the Mediterranean Sea through the Suez Canal, which creates the shortest shipping route to Europe. About 12 percent of the world's seagoing vessels pass through the Suez Canal.
