North Korea's leader ordered mass production of attack drones
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un oversaw the testing of kamikaze drones and ordered the mass production of these air attack weapons.
According to AP, citing the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), Kim along with a number of senior military officials oversaw the testing of attack drones on Thursday and received the latest information about these drones. In this test they flew in different directions and hit the desired targets.
The leader of North Korea expressed his satisfaction with the technical specifications of these drones and emphasized that the needs to mass produce these drones should be met as soon as possible.
He pointed out: "The competition for the use of drones as an important military tool is expanding in the world. They are easy to use as an offensive force, simple to manufacture, low cost and can be used in a wide range of military activities.
According to a Reuters article, during this year Kim Jong-un visited the kamikaze drone production program once again. North Korea has used drones along the border with South Korea to send them near important areas including Seoul and the no-fly zone around South Korea's presidential palace.
This action led South Korea to shoot down these drones. On the other hand, Pyongyang has accused the South Korean military of sending drones into North Korean territory and violating the country's sovereignty for political reasons.
