Norwegian Foreign Minister: Don't Leave the Palestinian People Alone

Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide called on countries that have suspended their financial assistance to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) to consider the consequences of their actions. More than 122 days have passed since the Zionist regime's attack on the Gaza Strip and Palestinian refugees are in very difficult conditions, several countries that support the Zionist regime, including the United States and the United Kingdom, have suspended their financial assistance to UNRWA. Under pressure from the Zionist regime, UNRWA terminated contracts and cooperation with a number of its employees in the Gaza Strip. UNRWA has warned that the continued suspension of aid will halt its activities in Gaza at the end of February. Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide responded to the issue on X's account by saying, "Now is not the time to leave the Palestinian people alone by suspending financial assistance to UNRWA." The Norwegian Foreign Minister asked countries that have suspended their financial assistance to UNRWA to consider the consequences of their actions. He also supported the views of European Union Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell on the Gaza issue. Borrell in an article on Sunday warned that ending financial aid to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) was an action that endangered the lives of hundreds of thousands of people. European Union foreign policy officials once again announced their support for UNRWA, stressing that it is a vital lifeline for millions of Palestinians suffering from hunger and the spread of disease in Gaza.
