Occupied territories, protesters block roads to Netanyahu
TEL AVIV - Protesters opposing Netanyahu's judicial reforms blocked access to Ben Gurion Airport to disturb a trip abroad by the Zionist prime minister himself and a visit from the US Secretary of Defense. Police were present in force at Ben Gurion airport and around Tel Aviv, where local media said Netanyahu and his entourage had arrived in the early morning to avoid possible sit-in demonstrations on the highway from Jerusalem.
More than an hour later than expected (it was supposed to take off at 2 pm local time, 1 pm in Italy) Netanyahu took off from the Ben Gurion and I am currently on a flight to Rome. Times of Israel has announced that the departure has been postponed to allow Netanyahu to meet the US Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin.
