Pro-Palestinian demonstration in Los Angeles
Thousands of protesters marched through downtown Los Angeles demanding a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
During a protest in Los Angeles, supporters of the Palestinian people once again demanded to stop the war and establish a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
According to the New York Times, protesters gathered in front of the municipal building with flags and banners associated with Palestine and chanted slogans such as “Stop the genocide,” “Free the two million hostages in the Gaza Strip,” and “Cease fire now.”
The number of marchers was estimated at about ten thousand people, although the Los Angeles Police Department did not provide statistics on this.
In addition to this demonstration, other protests in support of the Palestinian people took place in other major American cities such as San Francisco, Seattle, New York and Washington.
The protests come as the World Health Organization estimates the Palestinian death toll in Gaza has topped 30,000. The majority of victims of Zionist regime attacks are women and children.
However, a US official said the Zionist regime had more or less accepted a proposal to establish a temporary ceasefire for six weeks before the start of the holy month of Ramadan and plans to release several hundred imprisoned Palestinians, including the wounded, sick, elderly and women.
