Protest against Musk is forming in the USA
Protesters blocked traffic and waved banners with slogans such as "Burn a Tesla: Save Democracy" and "No Dictators in the USA." Tesla and the US presidential office did not immediately comment. Since Trump took office on January 20, at least 100,000 of the 2.3 million federal employees in the US have accepted severance packages or been laid off .
"Tesla Takedown": This is the name under which people in the USA protested against tech billionaire and government advisor Musk. He had initiated mass resignations of civil servants. According to police, there were nine arrests in New York.
Following the mass layoffs in US authorities initiated by government representative and entrepreneur Elon Musk, people in numerous cities have protested in front of branches of the electric car brand Tesla. According to police, nine people were arrested during an action by hundreds of demonstrators in New York. Protests also took place in front of Tesla showrooms in cities such as Jacksonville in the US state of Florida and Tucson in Arizona, as well as in Boston in the US state of Massachusetts.
According to a Spiegel report, around 400 people gathered in Boston alone. There were protests in front of around 90 Tesla branches and charging stations, including in Republican-dominated states in the interior of the country, such as Nebraska, Missouri and Kentucky. The organizers of the nationwide protest "Tesla Takedown" also called for Tesla shares to be sold.
