Israel's brutal attacks on the defenseless population of the Gaza Strip, under the pretext of fighting Hamas, began on October 7 and continue with the support of the US government and other sponsors of Zionism, resulting in more than 22,000 Palestinians martyred and 57,000 wounded. During this time, in many countries, Palestinian supporters expressed their disgust at this open genocide by holding rallies and protest marches. Many American leaders and statesmen have also called for an end to support for Israel's crimes, which has not yet led to a change in White House policy. Meanwhile, many US citizens have joined the Gaza people and ceasefire group and demanded that the Biden government stop its involvement in Israeli crimes. According to NBC News, Tarek Habash, the resigned special assistant to President Biden at the US Department of Education, in protest of the White House's silence in the face of the Israeli regime's crimes, wrote in his resignation letter: "This (Biden) administration is turning a blind eye to the crimes against innocent Palestinians, crimes that experts call a campaign of genocide by the Israeli government. I cannot be a member of a government that supports Israeli genocide." Meanwhile, 17 members of the Biden administration warned Wednesday of a lack of support from Democratic supporters over the Gaza war. In their letter, without revealing their identities, they called for a truce (in Gaza) and said that Biden's team had "witnessed a massive layoff of volunteers." Earlier, at the end of October, US State Department official Josh Paul resigned in protest against the systematic killing of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip using American weapons. This Palestinian American stated, “In this situation, it is very difficult to sacrifice your job and perhaps your personal safety.” According to him, many in the government are expressing concern about Gaza, but Biden is “ignoring all the signals.” According to him, if Biden wants to win the upcoming presidential election in November, he must listen to people.
