RT Arabi reported on the besiege of the French embassy by the armed forces of Nigeria. French Ambassador Sylvain Itte continues to stay in the building of the diplomatic mission, despite the demand of the military, who carried out the coup d'état, to leave the republic. After the end of the opportunity given to the French Ambassador to leave Niger, the armed forces surrounded the building of the French Embassy in Niamey and closed its entrances. The authorities of Niger detained and interrogated an employee of the French embassy. The authorities of Niger stressed that after interrogation, he would be taken out of the country. Meanwhile, the National Council for the Salvation of the Motherland (NCSR), formed by the rebels of Niger, led by General Abdurrahman Tchiani, is committed to its obligation to guard the building of the French embassy in Niamey.

Earlier, the Al Arabiya TV channel reported that the French Ambassador to Niger, Sylvain Itte, continues to remain in the building of the diplomatic mission, despite the demand of the military from the NSSR, who committed a coup d'état, to leave the republic. There are also about 20 employees of the diplomatic mission in the embassy. In recent weeks, thousands of demonstrations have been held in Niamey and other cities of Niger demanding the withdrawal of the French military from the territory of the African country. On August 25, the NSSR demanded that the French ambassador leave Niger within 48 hours. The ambassador did not respond to a call to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is under the control of the rebels, and refused to meet with their representatives. The French Foreign Ministry said that the rebels do not have the right to demand that the ambassador leave the country, since such a right belongs to "the exclusively legitimate authorities of Niger."
