South Africa has said, the evidence it gave in the case of genocide against the Zionist regime of Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) shows how Tel Aviv uses hunger as a weapon of war, the aim being to make Gaza no longer inhabited by Palestinians. exterminating them through the method of genocide and forcibly evacuating them.

South Africa's Foreign Minister Ronald Lamola told reporters in the capital Pretoria: "The evidence shows beyond any doubt that Israel's genocidal actions have the specific intent to commit genocide in the Gaza Strip. It is for failing to prevent genocide, inciting genocide and failing to punish those who incite and commit genocide''.    Lamola emphasized that all countries in the world have a responsibility to prevent and punish the crime of genocide.

Detailed evidence submitted by South Africa to the ICJ on October 28 has clearly demonstrated how the oppressive regime of Israel continues to violate the 1948 Genocide Convention by continuing to burn Palestinians living in Gaza by physically killing them and denying them access to humanitarian aid.

South Africa has also noted that Israel ignores and refuses to implement several interim measures ordered by the ICJ. In addition, Minister Lamola has said, South Africa condemns the spread of false information about the case of genocide presented by the ICJ against Israel, stressing that such actions are aimed at dampening the feelings of the world and keeping them away from the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

South Africa filed a case of genocide against the Zionist regime of Israel in the court in The Hague at the end of 2023, accusing Tel Aviv, which continues the brutal war and genocide against the Gaza Strip since October last year, for failing to implement its obligations under the 1948 Genocide Convention.

Several countries including Turkey, Nicaragua, Palestine, Spain, Mexico, Libya and Colombia have joined the case that began to be heard publicly in January.
