Starmer vows to end violence and chaos in Britain
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will hold an emergency meeting with ministers and senior law enforcement officials as he seeks to end street violence and days-long attacks on hotels housing asylum seekers.
Lawlessness has gripped Britain over the past six days as right-wing activists are using social media to fuel outrage over a stabbing attack at a dance class that left three girls dead and scores injured.
Many of the attacks have targeted immigrants and Muslims.
Recently, angry mobs attacked two hotels used to house asylum seekers, breaking windows and setting fires.
the British prime minister vowed that his government would do "whatever it takes to bring the thugs to justice".
"There is no justification, none, for taking this action and all fair-minded people must condemn this kind of violence," Starmer said, adding that he would put an end to the chaos.
Meanwhile, the British government has criticized Elon Musk for his claims that "civil war is inevitable" in the UK, saying there is "no justification for such comments".
"We are talking about a minority of thugs who do not speak for Britain," said the British government spokesman.
This is the sixth time since October that Musk has claimed that civil war is breaking out in Europe.
