The European Union accelerates the delivery of weapons to Kyiv
The head of European industry, Thierry Breton, said that the European Union is accelerating the supply of weapons to Ukraine to support the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). He stated this in an interview with Le Parisien newspaper.
According to him, during this year the European Union must supply Kyiv with "a million large-caliber weapons."“We are going to intensify our efforts to deliver arms and ammunition,” Breton said.He noted that the fighting is conducted in a high-intensity mode and ammunition plays a decisive role.“We are preparing for the fact that the war will last a few more months or even longer,” Breton said.
Earlier, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said that since April, the European Union has supplied Ukraine with ammunition worth €900 million from existing stocks. The statement was made by a European official at a meeting of NATO defense ministers with representatives of the defense industry in Brussels.
