The French government criticized Karim Benzema for supporting the people of Gaza
French soccer star Karim Benzema has come under fire from the French government after publicly declaring his support for the Palestinians amid the ongoing bombing of the Gaza Strip by the oppressive Zionist regime. Benzema wrote on his personal page last Monday: “All our prayers are for the people of Gaza who will again be victims of these unjust attacks that spare no woman or child.” French Interior Minister Gerard Darmanin criticized Benzema for supporting Palestine and accused him of links to the Muslim Brotherhood. Also, Senator Valerie Boyer, representing the center-right liberal-conservative party "Republicans", called for Benzema to be deprived of French citizenship and the Ballon d'Or if his alleged connection with the Muslim Brotherhood (Ikhwan al-Muslemeen) is proven.
“There is no account with 20 million followers where the post could be harmless. He condemned the unjust bombing and dedicated his thoughts to the people of Gaza. No one should judge anyone for defending the people of Palestine. What was deeply shocking was that he knew it had a special resonance. When 20 million people follow you... His message was exclusively targeted. He is French, he was born in Lyon, he has dual citizenship, and he in no way mentioned French victims, including French hostages...” Benzema categorically denies any links to the Muslim Brotherhood, and his lawyer said the star football has never had the slightest connection with the organization and is considering legal action against Boyer for libel in connection with a false accusation. The continued racist approach of the Zionist regime and the murder of the oppressed Palestinian people led the Palestinian resistance to deal heavy and irreparable blows to the regime in Operation Al-Aqsa Storm on October 7, 2023, which resulted in the deaths of at least 2,000 Zionists. Therefore, the Zionist regime resorted to killing civilians and the oppressed Palestinian people to compensate for its terrible defeat, as well as to destroy residential, medical, mosques and gathering places of Palestinian refugees in the Gaza Strip, resulting in more than 4 thousand Palestinian deaths, most of them children and women. As of Friday, the attacks had killed 4,137 Palestinians and injured more than 13,000, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
