The number of American mercenaries killed in the war in Ukraine

The Washington Post reported the deaths of about 16 American mercenaries who participated in the war in Ukraine.As recent American wars fade into history, some veterans have taken up arms in Ukraine, according to the Washington Post, and at least 16 people have died.
 
According to the newspaper article, the Americans who joined the Ukrainian forces traveled to Ukraine individually and ignored official and repeated warnings from US President Joe Biden and other members of his government. Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that more than 2,500 foreign mercenaries were participating in the battles near Kiev.

On Friday, the Russian Foreign Ministry summoned the American ambassador to protest against Washington's position regarding the attack on the territory of the Russian Federation.

According to some Russian sources, a Ukrainian sabotage group on Monday attacked the Belgorod area near the border with Ukraine, using American-made military equipment, as a result of which at least 8 local residents were injured.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, about 70 Ukrainian saboteurs were killed in this incident, 4 armored vehicles and 5 military trucks were destroyed.

This is despite the fact that US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller claims that the US position has not changed regarding hostilities on Russian territory and America does not call on Ukrainians to attack Russian soil.

The White House also said on Tuesday that they had no information about the attack on Belgorod, while saying that Russian pro-Ukrainian groups appeared to be behind it.
