The OIC condemns the action of the United States to prevent Palestine from becoming a full member of the UN

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has condemned the action of the United States to block the Palestinian request for full membership in the United Nations, while Israel continues the genocide against the people of the Gaza Strip with the help of some Western countries, especially the United States.

The Community of Islamic Cooperation has expressed its deep regret due to the failure of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to fulfill its obligations to grant Palestine full membership in the United Nations, while the Palestinian nation is facing greater cruelty, torture and genocide. ,” the OIC said in its statement issued yesterday Friday.

The statement of the OIC emphasized that: "The US veto vote against the draft resolution proposed to give Palestine full membership of the United Nations, "violates the terms of the United Nations Charter which allows membership to all countries that accept the obligations contained in the treaty."

The OIC has stressed that the US action prevents the Palestinian people from obtaining their "legitimate rights", and "contributes to the prolongation of the historical oppression" that has been established against the Palestinian people for 75 years.

The OIC has congratulated the countries that voted to support the draft resolution, saying the position "shows their support for truth, justice, freedom and peace and their rejection of the policies" of the Israeli regime.

In the voting, 12 member countries of the UN Security Council voted in favor, Switzerland and Great Britain voted not to oppose or support any side; and the United States has prevented the adoption of the resolution by vetoing it.
