The power struggle between the military generals continues to torment the Sudanese

The people of Sudan continue to suffer from the worst crisis of hunger and the largest refugee crisis in the world due to 15 months of power-hungry war between the military generals in the country.

Information says that, while the number of people killed in the fighting is estimated to be approximately 16,000, the number of people who lose their lives due to the collapse of the health care system in the country is greater than that of those killed in the war.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has said in its statement that, since the war began in Sudan on April 15, 2023 until now, more than 7.7 million people have fled their homes.

The IOM has noted that more than 2 million people have crossed the border into neighboring countries, with 55 percent being children under the age of 18.

For its part, the United Nations organization UNICEF has reported that Sudan has the largest number of displaced children in the world. It is estimated that there are more than 5 million refugee children in Sudan.

According to IOM, 36 percent of displaced people are from Khartoum, 20 percent are from South Darfur and 14 percent are from North Darfur.

And the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has said that, as the situation continues to deteriorate throughout Sudan, women, children and entire families are forced to flee their places and leave everything behind them.

And the Head of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, recently stressed that one out of every five people in Sudan needs emergency food aid while the civil war continues in the country.
