The Resistance defied the US Greater Middle East project
The leader of the Lebanese Hezbollah movement claims that the Resistance front succeeded in thwarting the so-called American Greater Middle East (GMO) project thanks to its victory in the 2006 war against Lebanon led by the Israeli regime.
In a televised address Wednesday, on the 17th anniversary of Israel's 2006 war on Lebanon, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said the war was part of the US Greater Middle East project, which aimed to consolidate Israeli dominance over the region under US sponsorship.
The victory of the Resistance front in 2006 also foiled the so-called Greater Israel project and pushed the regime to the brink of collapse, he said.“The goal of the 2006 war was to crush the Lebanese resistance and subjugate Lebanon, but these goals were never achieved, so the Israelis and Americans repeatedly admitted their failure against Lebanon,” Nasrallah said.
The 2006 victory marked a defining moment in Lebanon's history, shaping its destiny in the region for years to come. “This victory also paved the way for the deterrence of the Resistance, which continues to this day and has weakened Israel's deterrence,” he added.
Regarding the recent desecration of a copy of the Holy Quran in Sweden, Hezbollah's secretary general said the act of sacrilege was committed by an Iraqi Christian who was linked to the Israeli spy agency, Mossad with the aim of "sowing discord between Muslims and Christians".
"The choice of a Christian by the Mossad to commit this heinous act betrays the Israeli plan to sow division between the followers of the two religions", he explained. However, the Vatican and Iraqi churches reacted by condemning the act of desecration to prevent sedition.
Separately, Nasrallah said Israel had failed in its recent operation against residents of the Jenin camp in the northern occupied West Bank. “During their aggression, the Israelis aimed to create deterrence [against Palestinians in the area],” he said.
“The continued operations of the Resistance in the West Bank prove the defeat of Israel's regime incursion into Jenin and the Zionists have achieved a completely opposite result. »
On the other hand, Nasrallah condemned the installation of barbed wire and the construction of a wall in the border village of Qajar by the Zionist regime, considering it a "reoccupation" of the village.
“The right of sovereignty [over the village] cannot be shared,” he said, warning that the Resistance would not remain silent on the issue. “The village is part of Lebanese soil and must return to Lebanon without any conditions. »
